DCF Abuse and Neglect FAQ

Someone filed a report on me and now DCF wants to interview me about my child(ren). What should I do?

ANSWER: Call Farraher Law immediately. Do not discuss any of the allegations with DCF social workers before consulting an attorney. Even when allegations are baseless, your child can be removed from your custody on an emergency basis for several days, or longer. It is imperative that you consult with an attorney immediately. Farraher Law has extensive experience working with DCF-involved families. Attorney Farraher has successfully negotiated with DCF to avoid court involvement. In addition, he has successfully challenged DCF in emergency hearings and at trials.

If you have been contacted by DCF or law enforcement concerning allegations of abuse or neglect, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible in order to minimize the risk of losing (even temporarily) custody of your child(ren). Call Farraher Law to discuss your options.
